Alton & Hortense Ellis were Jamaican musical artists, known for their contributions to reggae and rocksteady music during the 1960s and 1970s. Alton Ellis was often referred to as the "Godfather of Rocksteady" for his influential role in the genre's development. Hortense Ellis, his sister, was a talented singer in her own right and achieved success with solo recordings as well as collaborations with Alton. Together, they created memorable music that cemented their place in Jamaican music history.
