Le Quintette du Hot Club de France was a jazz band founded in 1934 by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli in Paris, France. They were pioneers of the jazz genre known as "gypsy jazz" or "hot jazz" and they played a blend of swing and traditional Romani music, characterized by their unique instrumentation of two guitars, violin, bass, and sometimes clarinet. The band became famous for their energetic and virtuosic performances and their influential recordings, which are still admired by jazz enthusiasts today.
