Edward 'Ted' McKenna (born 10 March 1950, Coatbridge, Glasgow, Scotland), is a Scottish drummer, who has played with the bands Tear Gas, Rory Gallagher, The Party Boys, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (SAHB) (1972-78) and The Michael Schenker Group. He also toured with Ian Gillan for a short period in 1975 alongside fellow former SAHB bassist, Chris Glen. He works as a music performance tutor at North Glasgow College. McKenna was educated at St Patrick's High School, Coatbridge. His studies included Double bass lessons at school, several piano lessons, and a year under Glasgow big band veteran, Lester Penman. He has worked as a bandmember for several artists, including a half decade for Rory Gallagher from 1976-1981. He additionally worked as a session musician with Greg Lake, the Michael Schenker Group in 1982, Bugatti & Musker, 1982, Ian Gillan and for Dan McCafferty, 1975.
