Teddy P., also known as Teddy Pendergrass, was an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. He gained prominence as the lead vocalist of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes before launching a successful solo career. With his rich baritone voice, Pendergrass became known for his romantic ballads and soulful performances. He was recognized as one of the most influential R&B artists of the 1970s and 1980s. Unfortunately, Pendergrass experienced a tragic car accident in 1982 that left him paralyzed from the waist down. However, he continued to make music and inspire others until his passing in 2010.
