I went off in the woods like I usually would on a given afternoon
Then out of the corner of my eye, like a butterfly, I saw a twinkling light
So I followed it down the trail
Thinking I failed before I bailed I recalled a tale
I turned my back to the worn out world toward the colorful whirl and at the hum of a bird
The fay hid away in the forest
The fay are quiet, they go unnoticed
The fay are quite mischievous
All have failed to pin point them
But not today
No not today
Cause today I saw the fay, fay, fay
I was pressed like a flower
I sat looking sour as I unraveled the hour
Then one by one the tiny homes made of mushrooms and cloves began to make themselves known
Frogs having tea in matching sweaters
Rabbits reading, squirrels writing letters
Big bears soaking in a bubble bath
I let out a laugh
The folk heard so they set a trap, then
The fay hid away in the forest
The fay are quiet, they go unnoticed
The fay are quite mischievous
All have failed to pin point them
But not today
No not today
Cause today I saw the fay, fay, fay
Today I saw the fay
Today I saw the fay
I was told of a mushroom ring in a garden known to be where all the fay hide in
But the girl who told the tale took a trip down the trail to learn more but to no avail
So I stepped into a mythical past unlatched a time capsule, blooming in time lapse
Deer with wings, foxes glowing
In the disbelief they came to a halt and spoke to me
If you ever see fairy wings, don't take, drink, eat or thank a single fairy
Keep your name a secret, keep your word, never lie, brag, never stand here again
So I stumbled back as the floating carnations, babies breath and daisies forcefully said
In the entrance to a new era
I was told to be careful or I'd be dead
I said I'd keep my word and the truth of this world then hurried home as fast as I could
I ran quick in to the cottage fell on my last legs
My mother asked me where I've been
Today I saw the…
Today I saw the…
Today I saw the…
The fay hid away in the forest
The fay are quiet, they go unnoticed
The fay are quite mischievous
All have failed to pin point them
And still today
Still to this day
Cause I never saw the fay, fay, fay
No I never saw a thing
I never saw the Fay
No I never saw a thing
I never saw the Fay
