Yea-yeah

I was a little too small, coulda used a few pounds
Tight skirts, points hardly renowned
He was a handsome devil with mischief in his eyes
Together, we filled a void in our lives

It might've been wrong, but it felt so right
Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the backseat of that ole '60 Chevy (yea-yeah)
Workin' on mysteries without any clues

Just workin' on our night moves
Tryin' to make some front-page drive-in news
Workin' on our night moves
(In the summertime) makin' memories
In the sweet summertime, summertime

We weren't in love, oh no, far from it
We weren't searchin' for some pie in the sky or summit
We were just young, and restless, and bored
Living by the sword
And we'd steal away every chance we could
To backrooms, alleys, or the trusty woods
I used him and he used me
Neither one cared, we were gettin' our share

Workin' on our night moves
Tryin' to lose those awkward teenage blues
Workin' on our night moves
(Summertime) don't you remember?
Sweet summertime, summertime, summertime

(Whoa, I wonder) I wonder (yeah)
Felt the lightnin' (felt the lightnin')
Waitin' on the thunder
Wait on the thunder, yea-yeah

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started hummin' a song from 1962
(Ain't if funny how the night moves?)
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
(Strange, how the night moves)
With autumn closin' in

Sweet memories (night moves)
(Night moves)
(Workin' on our night moves)
(Oh, we been practicin') oh, yeah, I remember that
(I remember you) I will never forget you
(Yeah) (night moves)

I remember, I remember, I remember, I remember you too
(Night moves) finding heaven 'neath a sky of stars, yeah
(Workin' on our night moves) remember rockin' that ole Chevy car
(Those night moves)
(Thinkin' 'bout your night-)
(Night moves) skinny dippin' in a cement pond (yes, I remember)
Jitter buggin' on the church house lawn (I remember)
(Night moves)
(Workin' on our night moves) (yeah)
(I remember you too) oh, I remember, I remember, I remember you
(Yeah) yeah
