Newsies (Original Broadway Cast) is the group of performers who originated the roles in the Broadway musical "Newsies," based on the 1992 Disney film of the same name. The show features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein. It tells the story of the real-life Newsboys' Strike of 1899 in New York City. The original Broadway production opened in 2012 and received critical acclaim, earning Tony Awards for Best Choreography and Best Original Score.
