About Roll to Me

"Roll to Me" is a song by Scottish pop rock band Del Amitri, released as the third single from their 1995 album, Twisted. The song became their biggest hit in the United States when it reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was less successful in the United Kingdom, reaching the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart, but peaking at number 22, lower than the two singles from Twisted that preceded it. The band does not consider the song one of their best and have often seemed irked that what they see as a throwaway pop song gave them their biggest hit. The song was heard in TV shows and movies including Second Noah, Family Guy, Dating the Enemy, One Day, Hindsight and the trailer for the 1996 remake of Flipper, and the video appearing on an episode of Beavis and Butt-Head .

Look around your world pretty baby
Is it everything you hoped it'd be
The wrong guy, the wrong situation
The right time to roll to me

Roll to me

Look into your heart pretty baby
Is it aching with some nameless need?
Is there something wrong
And you can't put your finger on it?
Right, then roll to me

And I don't think I have ever seen
A soul so in despair
So if you want to talk the night through
Guess who will be there?

So don't try to deny it pretty baby
You've been down so long you can hardly see
When the engine's stalled and it won't stop raining
It's the right time to roll to me
Roll to me
Roll to me

And I don't think I have ever seen
A soul so in despair
So if you want to talk the night through
Guess who will be there?

So,
Look around your world pretty baby
Is it everything you hoped it'd be
The wrong guy, the wrong situation
The right time to roll to me
The right time to roll to me
The right time to roll to me...oooh

Currie and Harvie are the only members of the band to remain present throughout its history. They are also the main songwriters of the group. more »
