Anne Shelton

Anne Shelton was a British singer who rose to fame during the 1940s and 1950s. She was known for her versatile voice and performed a range of musical genres including swing, jazz, and popular music. Shelton was particularly popular during World War II and became known as the "Forces Sweetheart" for her performances for British troops. She had several hit songs including "Lay Down Your Arms" and was a successful performer in both the UK and the US. Shelton continued to perform and record music until her death in 1994. more »
