About Dumb

"Dumb" is a song by American R&B recording artist Faith Evans, recorded for R&B Divas (2012), a compilation album led by Evans which featured the first season stars of the same-titled TV One reality series. It was written by Evans along with Chris "Brody" Brown, Toni Coleman, Achia Dixon, Larrance Dopson, Lamar Edwards, Camille Hooper, and Jaila Simms, incorporating a sample from the composition "Broadway Combination", penned by Christian Arlester for his band Dyke and the Blazers. Production on "Dumb" was handled by music production team 1500 or Nothin', featuring additional production by Evans. The retro soul track was released as the compilation album's second single following Evans-led lead single "Tears of Joy". A music video for "Dumb" was photographed by Bishop Moore and features Evans singing and dancing in a 1970s-themed clip.

Ah ahh ah dumb
Dumb, dumb yeah dumb

Now baby I was wrapped up in your love
So crazy for you couldn't get enough
My girl was down and damn was no defense
I played the fool time and time again

Now I feel the deep and much regret
And I can't get over, can't get over, I can't get over it
Filled with so much pain I won't forget
So I'm over this, so I'm over this

That's why I'm sayin' that it's over for you
My my, I tried my best to trust and love you
So long, I'm saying sayonara to ya
So long, 'cause I won't be a dummy for you
That's why I'm sayin that it's over for you
I tried my best to trust and love you
So long, I'm saying sayonara to ya
So long, 'cause I won't be a dummy for you

I won't be a dummy for you, yeah
One more time,
Now baby I was wrapped up in your love
So stupid for you couldn't get enough
So willing that I would do anything
Just like I was a puppet on a string yeah

Now I feel a deep and much regret
And I can't get over, can't get over, I can't get over it
Filled with so much pain I won't forget
So I'm over this, so I'm over this

That's why I'm sayin that it's over for you
My my, I tried my best to trust and love you
So long, I'm saying sayonara to ya
So long, 'cause I won't be a dummy for you
That's why I'm sayin that it's over for you
I tried my best to trust and love you
So long, I'm saying sayonara to ya
So long, 'cause I won't be a dummy for you

Oh, you thought I wasn't gonna do it
Well you better get into it honey
'Cause you'll be doin' shows and stunts and tricks
So you can let the door knob hit you with a good Lord's switcher baby
Huh, you better build the bridge and get over it
'Cause I'm her latest daughter, I ain't nobody's fool

That's why I'm sayin that it's over for you
My my, I tried my best to trust and love you
So long, I'm saying sayonara to ya
So long, 'cause I won't be a dummy for you
That's why I'm sayin that it's over for you
I tried my best to trust and love you
So long, I'm saying sayonara to ya
So long, 'cause I won't be a dummy for you

? ‘cause you know my shit is hot
? ‘cause you know my shit is hot
? ‘cause you know my shit is hot
