About Black and Yellow

"Black and Yellow" is a song by American rapper Wiz Khalifa from his third studio album, Rolling Papers. It was released on September 14, 2010, as the lead single from the album. The song was written by Khalifa, along with Stargate, who produced it. It was released as a CD single in honor of Record Store Day. The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Wiz Khalifa's first number-one single in the US; he would top the chart again in 2015 with "See You Again". The song is about Khalifa's car, a yellow Dodge Challenger Hemi with black stripes. He has stated that he got the car in those colors as a tribute to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose official colors are black and gold, and its professional sports teams, most of whose colors are black and some variation of gold or yellow. The song itself does not mention Pittsburgh or sports, although the song's music video made the connection to Pittsburgh explicit, showing various iconic locations in the city, as well as apparel associated with the football team the Pittsburgh Steelers, the hockey team the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the baseball team the Pittsburgh Pirates. In the year after it was released, "Black and Yellow" spawned dozens of remixes, parodies and remakes, both in the US and internationally, many of them made in tribute to a local sports team. At Super Bowl XLV in 2011, which featured the Steelers competing against the Green Bay Packers, the Steelers used "Black and Yellow" as their fight song, while the Packers used a remix by Lil' Wayne called "Green and Yellow", marking the first time both teams at the Super Bowl had used the same song.

If you want somethin' see the whip transform, 1 button
Seat leaned back, got the yellow inside
On that black camaro, black camaro, black camaro, black camero
My beat hangin' out, got carmelo on the side
And they black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow

C-catch me in my Lamborghini (black and yellow black and yellow)

Sideways on the turnin' lane
Fire flame I be burnin mane
Teddy pain bout to hurt the game
Took a break for a while, I been learning thangs

Every whip I do it in, the rims super big
If you want somethin' see the whip transform, 1 button

On that black camaro, black camaro, black camaro, black camero
My beat hangin' out, got carmelo on the side
And they black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow

Not a lesbian but she a freak though
Come stay for one night I'm shining all week hoe

So many rocks in my watch I can't tell what the time is
Got a pocket full of big faces
Throw it up cause every nigga that I'm with tailored

Every whip I do it in, the rims super big
If you want somethin' see the whip transform, 1 button
Seat leaned back, got the yellow inside
On that black camaro, black camaro, black camaro, black camero
My beat hangin' out, got carmelo on the side
And they black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow black and yellow

Stay high like how I'm supposed to do
That crowd underneath them clouds can't get close to you
And my car look unapproachable
Super clean, but it's super mean
She wanna f*ck with them cats
Smoke weed count stacks
Get fly, take trips and that's that
Real rap, I let her get high if she want she feel
Convertible drop feel, '87 the top peeled back

Uh huh, you know what it is
Yea, uh huh, you know what it is
Ya'll already know what it is man
And if you don't you should by now
Black and yellow black and yellow

Uh huh you know what it is
Every thing I do I dot it big

When I pull out the lot that's stuntin'

When you see me you know evrything
Black and yellow black and yellow
Black and yellow black and yellow
I put it down from the whips to my diamonds I'm in,
