It was written by singer Shae Jones and frequent collaborator Shep Crawford and produced by the latter for her second studio album, A Nu Day (2000). The ballad was released as the album's second single and reached number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Tamia's first top ten hit on the chart. It also peaked at number three on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, while reaching the top spot on the Dance Club Songs chart. Tamia Marilyn Hill (born May 9, 1975), and known professionally as Tamia, is a Grammy-nominated Canadian R&B singer-songwriter whose music spans several genres: R&B, neo soul, hip hop soul, pop, gospel, jazz, and soft rock. She is best known for her 2001 hit "Stranger in My House", Fabolous' 2003 hit "Into You" (which samples her 1998 song "So into You"), and her 2006 hit "Me".
