About Heart

"Bless Your Heart" is a song made famous by country music singer Freddie Hart, and was the title track to Hart's 1972 album. The song was his third No. 1 song on the country chart. Country music writer Tom Roland wrote that the homonymy of Hart's last name ("Hart" and "heart") and the use of a common phrase ("bless your heart") in the lyrics provided the basis for the song, which is about a man who - despite his failings and feelings of unworthiness - expresses deep gratitude that his wife still loves him. As the song grew in popularity, wrote Roland, Hart's fans "began saying it more and more in conjunction with (Hart) on stage."

Heart we just got to get together
For my own peace of mind I've got to know
You'll be only one who really knows the answers
You know you love her but should we keep her or let her go

Eyes are you sure you saw her cheating
Ears love words you've heard could be a lie
We've got everything to gain if we can keep her
But so much too much to lose to say goodbye

Can you even imagine life without her
At her worst she's still the best we've ever known
Heart don't lose your head and go to pieces
Here she comes now heart ain't it good to have her home
Here she comes now heart ain't it good to have her home
