I've been awake for two days straight Trapped in my mind Built this home and sit upon this throne But I can't see through the blinds Sunlight ain't no friend to me Only darkness all around I could whisper so loud And shatter this glass house Can the truth be absolute Or is it relative to my point of view Have I had to much forbidden fruit Can I see deception disguised as an opportune Moment to trap my conscience in a guilt-ridden room Filled with anger and hatred and fear of the unknown Watered and grown into a monster of my own Reflection, I'm guessing, the universe's message Wasn't in the lecture I was given as a child in school Drown in other peoples' thoughts in a pool Sunlight still won't beam to me Tears fall but don't make a sound I could cry so loud And shatter this glass house Distorted visions I can't be persistent I'm really pretending That I'm on a mission to break out this prison When I can admit that I've been Erasing lines of infinity and perfect symmetry On these glass walls, forgetting the sacred geometry Of my inner being, and all in between Afflicted with madness, contemporary Alice Shadow dancing in the darkness Black silhouette, what do you regret Are you really that heartless Moonlight won't even beam to me Still darkness all around I'm about to scream so loud And shatter this glass house Now I'm going for a walk, out of my mind Past the broken trees and the frozen leaves To the cave of dying dreams and insomniac tendencies Surrounded by other lost beings, with visions of being free To create a reality seldom seen on a TV screen This is Plato's Allegory For the fortunate enough to remember the glory Of where we come from, our origin story Can't buy enough thrill to last from here To the top of the hill, even still Sunlight won't you sing to me I just wanna see your smile I feel like I can breathe right now That I broke through this glass house Walking through these lucid ruin feeling like the student Becoming the teacher, healer of cerebral problems Seeker of forbidden knowledge Dreamer of what isn't promised Staring in the void Between my mind and the world Wait for it to be destroyed So I can feel the peace I once felt as a boy Returning to the essence of my nature, psychic vibrations Take a substance that I can't escape from pupil dilation Sunlight I can hear you breathe Through the faces in the crowd Tryna figure out how To forget this glass house Immortal visions No longer resistant I can't be pretending Really on a mission I feel like a mystic I'm fixing this system wired in my head Constructing a safety net for the road that lies ahead Sweeping up the glass Banishing all of the ghosts of my past The demons running fast Peace in the madness, I still feel like Alice The light is returning, now I'm feeling balanced Black silhouette, how could you forget You were never really heartless Sunlight finally kissed my cheek No darkness all around I'm about to smile so proud Now that I left that glass house
