O' withered shade of man, you've lost yourself in the dark again I offer you my hand, with eternity, would you take this final dance We weave a complex form, a fit and a flurry in a violent storm We cast our bodies apart and orbit each other In a moment of calm We clash together, our hands interlocked and I am so weary now O' penitent man, I'll guide you through this infernal dance Our bodies dislocate as your mind starts to erase, we contort as time is displaced Now reflect back to your time on earth Were you a just man and what was it worth? I took no partner in life, bore no children I spent my days in repentance and prayer But no word ever came to me There was nobody there. I devoted all my life Kneeled before the cross and it bore for me no knowledge, no enlightenment Now I wish to repent, for the sins that I've committed I put my faith in the words of foolish men We resume our final form A darkened repose in a tranquil dawn We draw our bodies together, in a cold embrace A moment of bliss We drift apart Our flesh is erased and I see so clearly now I lived my life blind, in halls of countenance and incandescent light I learn now how to see as I walk this darkness through eternity It's the only thing that awaits me now I feel it's embrace It pulls me down And erases me
