Dreams

I awoke to smiles all around me They laughed and they sang They said they were dying to see me Then they sang me back to sleep I awoke to frowns all around me They hissed and they screamed How could you leave us for so long Well you just sang me to sleep I awoke to tears all around me They spat in my face They said they were empty without me Can you give me just one more thing Please I awoke to blood all around me They were gasping to breathe They begged me to stay with their last breath Then they sang me back to sleep I awoke to death all around me Their voices had ceased Their bodies were twisted and mangled My eye lids feel so heavy I'll finally get to rest in peace You woke and I smiled so brightly You woke and I cried You woke and I bled as I dropped down This might be the last thing I sing So get some sleep until next time
