Faint winds A song fading and leaves falling Faint winds and far away a fading laughter Through the rain and over the fields A voice is calling and it's you One dark gray cloud scatters and lifts above As the trees are filled with wings And down the valley through the crying trees The body of the darker storm flies But I wait I wait I wait for the mists and for the darker rain Heavy winds that stir the veil of fate Happy winds that twist her hair in the sky They tear me and they strew this heavy air upon me Winds that I know and I storm There was a summer every rain was rare There was a season every wind was warm But now you pass me in the mist Wraith-like you drift on out before the rain Across the fields blown with wilting flowers With your old hopes Dead leaves and dark eyes I roll like thunder in the night I dream of you and I ponder fate As my thoughts creep around my head Grasping my conscience Grasping my conscience They give me hope A ray of light once shone above But it can't be seen through the cloud Dim as a dream Whispers creep into the growing shadows Dense fog repels all light as the clouded judgement beckons Hoping for an end But praying for a new beginning Now night I stir in the dusk I crave the beckoning after Quiet the trees to their last tops Faint winds And far away a fading laughter This is a Perfect Storm
