He woke up did a brief stretch Then about three sets of push ups Washed up, inhaled a deep breath And said im'a create Took it to the studio and wrapped and tight layer of tan linen on a rectangular shape Made of wood Said that's good Then he reached for the paint Juggling the colors that would give him meaning today A little down on himself so he reached for the grey Then remembered what his dad used to say Before he passed away He used to tell him every color is a lyric if you're sad let a happy song take it away He said ok To himself Started humming a tune Dipped his brush in the yellow then proceeded to blue Delicate with every stroke he put the paint brush through Unaware what he was creating just pretended he knew He got lost, In a trance The brush began to dance His soul controlled his mind His mind controlled his hands Closed his eyes and continued to impulsively create When they opened he was looking at his fathers face Wait Take me away The most vibrant place A colorful array, on the same wave-length A sudden feel A burst of light A pull that you can't fight Create and breath new life She woke up did a brief stretch Then about three sets of sit ups Washed up, inhaled a deep breath And said ima create Took it to the studio and pulled out the 88 key keyboard that her late Mother left, another breath Thinking back to that day Middle of summer when she learned how to play And what her mom used to say She'd tell her music is the painting of life If the colors are real to you then you're playing it right It struck a chord, so did she, as she started to play And she had woke up feeling awful that day But that had all gone away Spiritual healing in the back of her brain She meditated as the Casio sang A little peek to make sure that it was recording as the melody rang Shut her lids and continued doing her thang She became entranced as every key made colors that she could see Never felt so free and what she couldn't believe Is 25 shades later when she listened to it back Somehow she heard her mother's voice singing on the track like They woke up did a brief stretch Had a little breakfast together Washed up, inhaled a deep breath And said let's have a good day He went out with his mother Really loved her but they Didn't spend much time with each other He would stay in his room, usually painting and listening to tunes And she would work, come home and cook supper Neither of them really got out a lot so They decided they would go and check out an art show Fascinated with a painting by Emmanuel Noterman They stood there by a middle aged man and his daughter and The girl said to her father "I was told That he used to create paintings with his eyes closed" The boy froze Then he interjected, "that's amazing" All four of them spoke and stared in fascination The Conversation continued as they walked through the halls Growing fond of more than the art on the walls Before they left the boy asked for the girl's phone number she gave it to him Smiled at him and said I hope we meet again soon Take me away The most vibrant place A colorful array, on the same wave-length A sudden feel A burst of light A pull that you can't fight Create and breath new life
