Elegy and Debris

The silence is broken by shuffles The ruble is cast with hands moving past a loved ones remains The transfer of pain seeing theme as broken and still as the night A wind comes to caress their face Blow the ashes away and ignite The embers to light the passage beyond the damage So forward pass beyond the burning grasses To the morass of the spirit Guide of the souls now wondering this land in Torment felt abandoned Our hands will pull the damned back So they understand We will have them guided to the Otherworld Let faith and worship cast away the dark A ring of light Brightens the night Protecting the site Relinquish attachments to pain Erase from the tongue all names left to blame There to trap But now receding fast In many tones we pray that these souls to rest be laid Leaving ruble mortal troubles A test of faith to keep us humble Endless struggle and bloody knuckles Engrained this wraith a mind scuttle Still now we only push Past the ambush Butchered These bodies only vessels Clearly understood No devil could wrestle a spirit to a level of hell Unescapable or special enough For the soul once its called Can escape from the peril Our ritual successful Residual pains are forgetful Eventual items to get to For now we press on with the breakthrough the flesh In the form to detest may distress the invested Although we are blessed to let go of the rest Take this weight off my chest once they cross through the crest Still we weep for the wounds will heal but they're still cutting deep Lost loved ones to bloodlust now rust in the streets Or guide through belief and trust that they cross in peace Though started in shrieks Though made to look weak Through bloodshed we're forged We lay them to sleep Lay them to rest Our kin Their deaths Well soon be avenged
