Forgive me for being so sentimental
I wrote this project to help me when I'm in peril
When I'm wrapped up in depression like its apparel
This strips me back to what's actually fundamental
Sometimes you got to be gentle
Sit and relax with your mental
To understand some struggles
Are meant to temper your metal
Won't always think it a detriment
Cause down the road it always goes in our benefit
The world's chaotic we got to stay vigilant
Gets out of pocket like wallets when paying cheques
People will comment and gossip but won't assist
Our routes uncommon they wouldn't know where it twists
So we're unbothered by anyone's ignorance
And we'll stay bonded to forging our inner bliss
We owe ourselves forgiveness
We weren't given fair shakes
We had to brace before we soared
We've made a million mistakes
We hope to make a million more
If the earth is a stage
We're made for the encore
If there's such thing as the fates
We cope by never keeping score
Forgive me for preferring meadows
A softer life after surviving the ghetto
I'll trade my pistol for posies and pick the petals
Les Miserables would be baffled, say I'm neglectful
Predict the privileged would find it so preferential
But I can't find generosity rubbing elbows
We'll stay oblivious to any sect
And keep our interests in the insects
That's underground, but not a pitfall
Got to nurture the soil to grow sequoia tall
Got to unearth the spoils beneath your vitriol
Got to honor the order
Before you walk you have to crawl
I'll be your biggest supporter
Knowing you have given your all
It might start small
We're here for the long haul
We weren't given fair shakes
We had to brace before we soared
We've made a million mistakes
We hope to make a million more
If the earth is a stage
We're made for the encore
If there's such thing as the fates
We cope by never keeping score
Six, seven, eight
Alright, alright, uh, alright
Uh
See the dahlia is my favorite flower
A lot of different kinds of dahlias
It's a very strong flower
It goes dormant in the winter
But it always can come back
Thing about the dahlia is
It can symbolize
Instability, betrayal
But also elegance, grace, and steadfastness
Forgive me for being so sentimental
