Autumn Dreams

Y'know it's that time Pumpkins outside You can get a pretty good one for a nickel and a dime Feel the cold breeze Hear the rustling in the trees Feel the calmness in the air No more buzzing of the bees Long long walks Under rainy gray skies It's time to watch some football So let's go back inside Let's go to the countryside Let's catch a tractor ride Let's sit down on the hay stacks Let's do this all the time Pumpkin spice drinks Thanksgiving dreams You reap what you sow So you should've planted me I'm ripening up Baby come and get a seed I'd like your attention But attention isn't free Just ask me what you want from me I'll give you what you need But what you really want isn't always what you need A break from all the nonsense The birdies and the bees A little taste of freedom is slavery indeed The leaves fall down They all turn brown The circle of life Yeah it all comes around Everybody frowned at me They told me stay out The people who doubted me They won't make a sound now Looking up above All you see are the stars Glittering shimmering They seem so very far But once you learn to fly Once you really really try You'll start to soar up up Into the hazelnut sky Ride into the sunset Time to rest your head I know you're feeling weak So I'll walk you to your bed I know you go so fast because This life seems very long Until the decades pass And all your time here is gone Take a little rest stop Take a deep breath man Working so hard Won't mean nothing if you're dead man Let's go make some memories before we lock it in Let's go be together before we're spread thin
