D-Man

D-Man also known as Mvangeli Dennis Nhlapo to his family and close friends is a creative hip hop artist from a small town called Balfour in Mpumalanga. The artist fell in love with music in his late years of primary school where he enter- tained his classmates using his school case as a drum playing rhythmic house beats for them to dance to, it was until his second year of high school when he fell in love with hip hop. He later on formed a rap group with 3 of his high school friends which gained popularity at school and at local talent shows. The group was no more after everyone completed high school because of distance and some of the members deciding on focusing on their tertiary studies. D-Man took it upon himself to keep sharpening his writing skills but decided to also take a break from pursuing music while in college in a confusing period of his life. It was until 2014 when the calling of creating music was overwhelming for the art- ist, he then started writing some music to some internet beats in hopes of dis- covering a sound that would be true to him that led to a song called “Show Me What You Got” which went viral on the internet, play listed on Trans Africa and got him his first solo gig where he got an encore with people throwing money on stage with excitement from his performance. New confidence developed in the artist which led to the birth of his first mixtape “The Blue September Tape”, a ten track project about a vulnerable young man experiencing love, heartbreak, fear, low self esteem and challenges with peer pressure. The Blue September Tape laid a new foundation for D-Man getting him shows outside of town, radio interviews , reviews on websites locally and abroad. Janu- ary 2018 the creative hinted a new project after a string of single releases in 2017, released a freestyle over AKA’s Star Signs beat to announce the release date of his next project titled “Walls EP” which officially dropped on March 2nd, a conceptualized motivating musical journey about going against all odds and breaking the walls that deprive us from reaching our dreams. Recently the art- ist has established his Company “The Goof Room Media” which is a music hub for creative's / recording label where they share their content, currently it has his long time producer MB-AJ and a talented artist known as Elias Vinay. D-Man is destined on breaking his walls towards his dreams with his consistent electrifying content.
