Delisha Thomas (aka Racquel J) is a Grammy nominated, Dove award winning singer/songwriter. Born on the sunny island of Trinidad, raised in the suburbs of Mississauga Ontario, she began singing at the tender age of 6 and songwriting at the age of 14. And what once began as a mere fascination soon ignited into a passion. This passion would become the catalyst for a life changing evolution. In 2004 Delisha made her debut into the American music industry penning songs for then up and coming artists Christina Milian and Kiki Sheard. Once the ball was set in motion Delisha then went on to work with Artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Danity Kane, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Adrienne Bailon, Beyonce Knowles, Justin Bieber, etc. In 2007 Thanks to a song entitled “DeJa Vu" performed by Beyonce”, which obtained unforeseeable success, Delisha received her first Grammy nomination for “Best R&B song”. Throughout her career she has made vocal contributions laying backgrounds on songs for various artists including Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce Knowles and Macy Gray. She has also worked with numerous producers such as Rodney “Darckchild” Jerkins (Destiny’s Child, Pussycat Dolls, Toni Braxton, Lady Gaga), Fred Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Brandy, Toni Braxton), Nathaniel “Danja” Hills (Britney Spears, Pink, Nelly Furtado), D’Mile (Janet Jackson,Justin Bieber, P. Diddy) and many more. Delisha continues to write not only for mainstream artists but new up and coming talent as well.
