Harare-based female artist Delmar African Wine is best known for her authentic passionate vocals , energetic live shows and lyrically captivating music. With lush soundscapes and big choruses, her music draws influence from internationally recognized artists like Sia, Beyonce and Shasha. Her career is just starting but already she has worked with well-known producers and sound engineers including Tatenda LXA, Nicky and JMP, landing her in a better position to rise and potentially be one of the greats in the industry. Delmar’s work with Tatenda LXA has found her performing on stages in front of crowds which she is not a stranger to as her music background at school and in church has put her on the spotlight from catholic to pentecostal churches. Soon after her first song titled “Please Call Me” with T Rasta hit over 3,5 thousand plays on YouTube, and her second song Nothing personal got recognition from the Harare, Zimbabwe based independent daily paper Newsday, it propelled her to move to Harare from Chiredzi to pursue her career in music where she started working with Tatenda LXA who's been producing her tracks that are yet to be released. This includes, Nehondo, the song which is set to be released with visuals. In a world of over-sexualized leading ladies and a drug-infected pop culture, Delmar African Wine is a role model for youth, preaching love, individuality, empowerment and self-consciousness through music and dancing. She is releasing the music video for her Zimbabwe Independence anthem “Nehondo” on 18 April. Her music video is a tribute to her heroes and the personal stories of their sacrifices in overcoming colonialism.
