MEL (Melissa Lauren Gottuso), an American producer and singer songwriter. MEL is also a member of an EDM/POP production duo called Coastal Landsharks. MEL started showcasing her productions in art in 2016 after she finished her 8 year abligation as a SGT in the United States Army. MEL not only has the vocals people die for, but the heart and passion you can not teach in any musician. She refuses to be placed in a musical box. She has showned that she can produce all types of genere and when asked why she does music “ I’m a fucked up person, just tryin to give people something they can relate too. I’m not in music for the money, fuck that. I do this Bc I love it, I feel free and I hope one day everyone will find something that makes them feel free.” MEL has accomplished a lot of things quicker than most Artist and Producers who have been in the industry for years and years. In 2016 her first track released publicly, Girls w/ No Chill - Coastal Landsharks gained a lot of attention within the music industry and major labels. She was sent an instrumental to work on and create a story for a group named Damsterdam & Jrnd who have changed their name to Project North. When finished the two members received back MELs writings and suggested a male vocalist to join her to give the track a mysterious late night cocaine vibe, they all lost it. She named the song Lost Control for several reasons but has never revealed the true meaning by those lyrics or any song for that matter. That’s what makes MEL unquie. The largest EDM Label in the country SPINNIN RECORDS got a hold of the track and signed MEL as an artist and since then she has hit the ground running. Her more or MEL on Spotify.
