Philip Idowu Oladeji popularly known as Phido Newman is an Urban Contemporary Gospel Artiste. He was born into the Oladeji family of Ekiti State , South West of Nigeria on 3rd of April. He spent his early years in Ondo State where he discovered his love for music. Philip is a graduate of economics education from the University of Ado Ekiti ,Ekiti State Nigeria. Musical Career: Philip started a group, ‘Newmen’, in late 1996, a 5man music band which consisted of himself, as the lead,Lanre, Taye, Demola and Joseph. They rocked the town and traveled through the western states of the country to bless lives with a new formatted music-ministration. However the group disbanded due to various career pursuit. It was here that Philip decided to forge on and make a career out of music. The Word of God is his main source that drives him on to greater heights. And this kept him going in spite of adversities. His debut Track Oba Nla , was released in 2019 under Gracefield Studios Production. Philip' sonorous voice continues to captivate his listening audience. Unequivocally, his unique style of gospel music largely consists that of High life, Afro-gospel, Rock, Ewi (traditional yoruba chant) injects a breath of fresh air in the Nigerian gospel arena. He is happily married to a wonderful woman Yetunde Oladeji and they are blessed with Children. Philip is an ordained minister of God in the Redeemed Christian Church of God and has been coordinating choir since he was a teenager and presently the Music coordinator of the music department of his parish choir for more than 8years now. He is a performing and Recording Gospel Artist, a Song writer,Producer, Praise and Worship leader and also an instrumentalist with his heart set to lead God's people to the presence of God, bring His glory down and be a blessing to generations through his ministrations by the grace of the Almighty God He is currently managing Gracefield Studios ,a music studio that strictly produces gospel songs, where Oba Nla is Produced.
