A Country Music Artist from Hawaii? Yes! Born (July 8,1981), in the beautiful Islands of Hawaii, Waylon k. Nihipali is one of a few, All American Country singers/songwriters born in Hawaii, to pursue a career in Country Music. Influenced by Country Music as a child, Waylon followed his dad around to studios, concerts and gigs who was also a Hawaiian Country Music singer. Waylon also developed a passion for Rodeo which went hand in hand with his affection for Country Music. He qualified as a contestant in the High School Nationals Rodeo Finals in Gillette Wyoming, both his junior and senior years in high school. With no job and no money for education, Waylon joined the Air Force following his high school graduation. It was there where he gained an education in Civil Engineering as a Heavy Equipment Operator. As he left the islands to pursue a career in the United States Air Force, Waylon got his very first guitar as a gift, from his dad. With no family and friends around while he served close to 7 yrs, Waylon taught himself how to play the guitar. He also developed a real desire to make a go at Country Music. He decided to make a few inquiries towards a Country Music career. He did his very first Sing along track recording in a little studio at his first duty station in Clovis, New Mexico. Turns out, that’s where Leanne Rimes did her very first recording of Blue. Waylon also placed 3rd in the Colgate Country Music Showdown as he got closer to exiting the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Waylon was told by producers in Nashville that they couldn’t really do anything with him while he was still in the Air Force. It was then, that he knew, he would not make the Air Force his lifelong career as he knew he did his part in fighting for our Country. Country Music has and always will be his #1 passion! Fast forward to present time, Waylon is in full pursuant of being a Professional Country Music singer/songwriter. He is currently recording new music and constantly writing to make his life long dream come true!
