Whiskey General is a collaborative music project led by British musician, singer, and songwriter Jay Serra, co-founder of The Juice (aka Kasai). A veteran of international tours and indie music productions, Jay has supported acts as varied as The Doves, Magistrate, Ms Dynamite, Idlewild and Scouting For Girls. With Whiskey General, Jay wanted to highlight an overlooked pool of talent. He believes that the traditional rock star no longer exists. Instead the future lies with DIY artists, artists who are not confined or defined by genre, and who believe in the stripped-back power of a raw idea on a guitar or piano, rather than the over-production of manufactured pop and rock. Jay’s first track, 'Truth And Lies' was a collaboration with fellow musos and touring vets, Bob Moore and Rich Merrett. His second release, ‘Shotgun’, is in collaboration with Jack Evans and Rich Merrett was a labour of love that involved artists from Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Toronto. He co-produced it with Jordan Brown. His latest and upcoming release 'The Evil Eye', is his collaboration with London guitarist Maw. With cross of vibes between Sabbath, Nineties Grunge and a theme observed by so many countries around the world, the powerful song promises to pack a punch.
