"Something Got Me Started" is the first single released from British band Simply Red's 1991 album, Stars. It was released in several forms — a 7-inch single, a 12-inch single and a CD version, which included a remix by Perfecto (Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne). The song became successful around the world, peaking at number 11 in the United Kingdom and peaking within the top 10 in many European countries, like Austria, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland. On the Eurochart Hot 100, the single reached number 9 in November 1991. It was less successful than the band's previous hits in North America, reaching number 11 in Canada and number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
