The Side Effects (stylised as THE SIDE EFFECTS) is the sixth studio album by Japanese rock band Coldrain, released on August 28, 2019. It features a more experimental sound which incorporates vocal elements of rapping and electronica backgrounds which is heard in songs like "Revolution", "The Side Effects" and "Coexist" of which is typically heard in nu-metal music. "Mayday" served as the main theme of the anime Fire Force, which also features Ryo Kinoshita from fellow Japanese metalcore band Crystal Lake. The song "Revolution" was also used as the main theme for Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs 2. The Side Effects is also the first Coldrain album to not be released in October since the release of The Revelation in 2013 and the second to be released under the label of Warner Music Japan. The deluxe edition includes a documentary on the process of making the album. more »
