His name it did not matter, it was just that he had run
Misunderstanding and complications, well then ruin anyone
It had happened, and the harm was done, still he looked to me and asked
"Do you think the wounds have healed, that enough time has passed?"
I didn't know quite what to say, so he continued on anyway
He talked about the things that he wished he'd done or said
I said "It's doesn't matter much, don't worry about it now
The world will grow and heal, as soon as its time is found."
"Kids try to grow too fast," he said, "You have to have your fun
You can have an old soul when your old, and enjoy life while you're young"
Well, I didn't learn his name, you see, until the very end
And a year later, well I got to say "Hey Jesse, how've you been?"
