To words without meaning
Words like freedom and democracy
National pride
Socialism and Christianity
And duties and rights
If we grasp hold of one of these words
We find it swollen with tears
And the blood of so many
Over so many years
Though what these words truly mean
Nobody can say
We keep piling up ruin
In their name just the same
But if we could take the time to
Properly define our terms
Maybe we could stop killing and
Being killed in turn
Well we're all God's children
