Gai lan, kai-lan, Chinese broccoli, or Chinese kale (Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra) is a leafy vegetable with thick, flat, glossy blue-green leaves with thick stems, and florets similar to (but much smaller than) broccoli. A Brassica oleracea cultivar, jie lan is in the group alboglabra (from Latin albus "white" and glabrus "hairless"). When gone to flower, its white blossoms resemble that of its cousin Matthiola incana or Hoary Stock. The flavor is very similar to that of broccoli, but noticeably stronger and slightly more bitter. more »

How do you, just, sit with yourself and say

She's not thinking about what the child will grow up to be

Or what sex she is, or he is, or what is going to happen to that baby
Oh, what if it comes out deformed, oh, what if something goes wrong
Because the very act of birth is so intensive that there is nothing else you can think about
Because the objective is to push out the baby that it has been created
So in the same sense, when you're making music, you're pushing out a child
And, uh, by thinking about, uh, what the baby will grow up to be
Or what will happen to you once the baby once the baby is delivered
You're kinda taking energies away from the child, so you're draining it of the attention it deserves
And that is when something could go wrong
So you just have to focus on
Creating the baby and then the baby will be what the baby is
Yeah, yeah! But if you don't feed the baby attention
You will never feed the baby anything
But, the intent- the- the-,
What you feed the baby doesn't come from a perspective of agenda behind that, it's just
You just give the baby food and the baby does what the baby does?
Exactly, because the baby is a creation and an extension of you, but the baby is not you
And that distinction is very important to remember
