She has blood red lips
Matching finger tips
And fiery auburn hair
Steel blue eyes like a forty five
That can kill with a simple stare
She leaves a smokey trail
With a big exhale
Never pays for a drink
I knew he was doomed
When she entered the room
Smiled and gave me a wink
I ordered a Crown and looked around
I noticed him startin' to sweat
It was a quarter to nine and she was right on time
So I continued with my bet
He paused and stared thumbing his pair
Waiting for lightning to strike
Then things got rough when I called his bluff
Much to his dislike
Life's just a game of deceit and lies
Poker's a reflection of life in disguise
There's nothing wrong with admitting defeat
The lady in red is a tough one to beat
Winning ain't easy, there's always a surprise
The little lady chooses who lives and who dies
As he sat there, eyes cold and dead
He folded his cards and this is what he said
A smart man knows when it's time to retreat
It's something I learned growing up in the street
I've played with the Devil, I filled him with lead
But nothing haunts me like the Lady in red
She's a heartbreaker son so may I suggest
If you're playing with her
Keep 'em close to your vest
I watched him leave and gathered my chips
As the Lady in Red kissed my lips
There was something familiar with the man I just beat
Like staring at myself in the face of defeat
His soft spoken words hit like a truck
One day she'd be gone, no more Lady Luck
My time will run out and she'll soon disappear
With a gut shot straight and a tear in my beer
Life's just a game of deceit and lies
Poker's a reflection of life in disguise
There's nothing wrong admitting defeat
The lady in red is a tough one to beat
Winning ain't easy there's always a surprise
The little lady chooses who lives and who dies
Who lives and who dies
Who lives and who dies
Break it on down
