When I was the age of three
Daddy bought me two wolverines
One dark and dirty, awfully mean
One white and wooly, polished clean
I gave them names, Yin & Yang
One just bites, one behaves
One to tame, one to train
Everyday in my brain
Yang does tricks, he's disciplined
He only sleeps within his pin
Yang gets bread when he listens
And Yin's jealous when Yang is fed
Yin's a pup, he takes short cuts
He wines and claws for what he wants
I give him some so he'll shut up
But now he's big and plays too rough
Now Yang's the only one I'll feed
I'm done with feeding Yin these treats
Yang's constantly protecting me
Yin sees me as a piece of meat
I locked them in a prison
And I call it Tanner Collins' grit
Walking with the wolves was fun
But now they got me on the run
Got me running from the yin twins
I've been running from the yin twins
Dancing with my demons
Sometimes I'd like to give in
Sit and find out who wins

Can't escape
The yin yang twin gang
My body is their wrestling ring
My brain's the only referee

He's coursing through but never far

But I'm anxious when he's in charge
Yin hunkers under private parts
Now I'm the one who rolls and barks

Crouching, prowling in the dark
To pounce and howl when I'm off guard
Good boy, Sit stay
Down boy, run away
Try to escape and flee the fray
But every runner needs a break
Yin nips my leg. Stumble, fall
Maybe I should cut it off
Crawl away and pray to God
That I may grow twice as strong
