A Passage to India is a 1924 novel by English author E. M. Forster set against the backdrop of the British Raj and the Indian independence movement in the 1920s. All you wanted is what you need
And you're tired of hearing different things
You can wander on
And some find some open place
A while away from anything
And learn the feeling of losing yourself
Or would rather get your head on straight
And buy yourself a home
In some town and start to procreate
Factory, bar, and then home

And I'm guessing that's fair
I don't know much about it
Would you argue?

What you want
Is to walk by the creek
Maybe just not be seen for a little while
And you're tired
And I know, I know, I know
What you want
But if not, then that's cool

You can wander off
And promise to live well
But you know it's just
It's just Detroit on a larger scale
And it's not so great
Living on your own
Backtrack now and depreciate
Unlearn all that you know

And I guess I don't care
All that much about it
Would you argue?

What you want
Is to walk by the creek
Maybe just not be seen for a little while
And you're tired
And I know, I know, I know
What you want

Meet us at the mouth of the river
We'll show you how to live

What have you done to deserve this mess?
What are the chains that bind you?
Where are you, where are you, where are you,
Where is your mind?
