I would not believe I was there, (I am here)
Locked and entombed in the earth. (Oh so cold)
The soil was wet with poisonous air, (Cannot breathe)
A dark womb that would never give birth. (Never cry)

Into the dirt I attacked with my nails, (Oh the pain)
As a low sound issued from within me. (What's that sound?)
But I soon knew that my efforts would fail, (Always fail)
The land above, nevermore would I see. (I am blind)

A higher sound came now from my throat, (What's that sound?)
As the livingman's air started to wane. (I can't breathe)
And I fancied myself rising, now fully afloat, (Now I fly)
Oblivious to my own sad, mortal pain. (No more pain)

I fell from the earth to the sky, (Fall so high)
And smiled down on faithful, dear friends. (Goodbye)
I leave it for them to ask why, (Why ask why?)
For my tale now lies at its end. (Not the end)

I am born again in the Light, (I am free!)
Ascending through Heavenly planes. (Rise so high)
I, the Soul, cry out in delight, (I am soul)
As my rightful place is regained. (I am home!)

I dwell now in the oneness of All,
Unaffected by space, time or form. (All is one)
Until I next hear the call, (Heed the Call)
