Why all the pain and the suffering?
One fall and we're all set to be struggling?
With pain in our hearts
Why allow evil?
Why did we not all wake up in heaven from the start?
Why do we have to live here like it's a test that's way too hard?
With no cheat sheet in sight
Some of us are deeply deprived
Of help, we didn't ask to be alive
Why when we need you the most you never seem to show up and help?
I felt better when I did things myself
Took care of my body and stopped hating myself
The world is evil to its core
When you feel down you feel it even more
It's hard to image it was even harder for the people here before
They say heaven's nigh but let's set aside all the lovely talk
Why did you not prevent slavery, genocide and the holocaust?
Diseases, disasters, paedophiles and some awful laws?
Kid's getting tortured and raped and end up in coffins at age 10
How are you fair when you punish to the third and fourth generation?
Is it all just a myth?
Is it all just a hoax?
Should we bother with this?
Are you out there for sure?

So much stress and it's hard
We don't wanna suffer, never no more
Is it all just a lie
To keep the people in check?
Do we live just to die?
Is it really simple as that?
I think my questions are fair
If you are there, do you really care?
Life is complicated
Hardly fair and often painful
It says you want marriage but for now it's just fornication?
Give us more time
Seems you're livid inside
If all we do is sin and yet strive
To get through the gates and win ageless life
You say you're forgiving but there's things we can never do?
My doubts may be perpetual
If fornicators don't qualify for heaven that just proves
I'm in the same boat with gays and transsexuals
For many generations
People were murdered and tortured for your name's sake
By your infinite creation
You made the planets and stars in all your greatness
But folks get born deformed, ill and disabled
Prayer's supposed to move mountains but it ain't curing me
Why when I was strong in my faith, I kept losing hair?
Losing my mind, losing faith in myself full of fear
I bent over backwards trying to hook up with a Christian girl
Guess I wasn't perfect enough
Wasn't praying, repenting, or working enough
Is it all just a myth?

I can't imagine suffering worse in hell
After dreams and visions of it
I know one thing
I'd rather be non existent than to live in the pit
Your love I only see at times but I'm seeing some shit
That makes it easy to debunk it
There's times when all that keeps me from losing faith is fear of God and judgment
So many threats in the Bible we hear
Yet you say you're wiping our tears?
Sometimes I pray you would just make me die and disappear
Wish we didn't have to cry out to your ear
With no reply, instead you're blinding us with fear
Sometimes I wish you never woulda made me
Then at least I wouldn't fear hell and go crazy
