It was a long time ago but not long enough

On a night cold and dark I met a man in the park

I saw the life drain from her eyes
Minute by minute all restraint faded away
Souls were destroyed, and through all the noise
I heard the stranger say

Isn't this what you wanted?
How did you think it would be?
This was all decided when you threw in your lot with me.

I got up from the floor and fell back to my knees
I raised my eyes to heaven and cried...please

I don't remember how I got back to the park
Someone heard me scream
What are you doing here, oh my poor little dear?
You've had such a nasty dream

Hear me, o my brothers
The devil you shouldn't dare
Lest you wind up like the others
