Did we come down from the heavens Did we grow up from the ground? Were we born out of the waters And are we human now? Is my life just a vapor Just a breath of the Creator? Or are we all just the dreams Of a divine imagination? Oh, and what are the chances That it's all a simulation? Are we holy? Are we ancient? Are we stuck inside the Matrix? Are we just the latest result Of unguided mutation? And if so, does that mean I'm not The pinnacle of creation? Or could it be the same story Just different interpretations? Well, I don't pretend to know But I wonder, if we could Remember where we came from Could it be in our power To alter our destination? If we would humble ourselves Admit we've gone astray Someday, would we find our way back home? Have we forgotten when we started We were tenders of the garden? We were instruments of praise And in the presence of our Father We stood bold and unashamed In the holiest of places We were innocent enough Until they told us we were naked We were imagers of God Until we forgot our nature Indigenous to love Until they taught us only hatred When they took us from our homes And they took away our language Cut our hair and shaved our faces And gave us strange new names Who needs chains? They've already got us indoctrinated We're all slaves To the very 'gods' we created We are all that now remains Of a stolen generation Singing 'There will be a day when The world will be remade and Until we finally awaken We are just strangers in a strange land' So is it all a waste of time Or could it truly be enough To spend the rest of my life Simply learning to be loved? Am I ready to choose To let go of my excuses? Or to finally give up What I've been so afraid of losing? Oh, and then I remember That time is an illusion And with a different perspective Comes a different conclusion So I'm giving myself The grace that it takes To come to fruition While I'm learning to trust the process And my own intuition I am lead by the gentle wind That's blowing in the spirit And silencing every voice out there That don't want me to hear it I looked for God In the deserts In the mountains When I found Him I went home and wrote an album I've still got questions about Him So I keep seeking Him everyday Because I believe no matter Who we are or where we've been It could be in our power To set our own intentions I'll see you again In a higher dimension When we find our way back home
