In the proud city of Tenochtitlan, no one fears to die in war
Giver of eternal life, our glory is your command
Warriors fulfill the sacred oath, sacrifice blood, life, and soul
Who would try to destroy our land, to conquer heaven here on earth

Battle hymns, sang by Ce Acatl, marching king, of the battle won
Leaving bodies burning, soldiers agonizing, death usurping those the gods have chosen

Witness the rise of the conquering king, said to be chosen by the serpent god himself
Rising to power, an empire in his grasp, celebrating this victory for days to come

Cheering crowd, praising their king, sacrificing captives' day and night
Not knowing across the lands, a revolting tribe makes their stand
As the clouds open to the sun, lighting the path that will lead them on
Drums and flutes rumble through the forest, thumping like a heartbeat they begin to march

Burning arrows darken the sky, blazing in fire anything in their path
Blood on the ground, warriors screaming, another battle that must be fought

Facing each other, Ce Acatl attacks his foe, armed to the teeth, fearless of their destiny
Like two jaguars hunting the same kill, their eyes shine like stars confronting the enemy

Swinging clubs of volcanic stone, both men hold on to their own
Using their shields to protect their souls, clashing like titans here on earth

Empowered by spirits
Embraced by the ones above they fight until someone falls
Acatl loses focus, An obsidian knife pierce through

Like an eagle flying through the open endless skies, injured an eagle descends from its flight
Disoriented, grasping his shield and he sees his own blood, pierced by a knife he falls to the ground

In the proud city of Tenochtitlan, a tragedy begins to unfold
The eagle that once flew high now falls from the skies
Warriors see with distraught eyes, will he survive? or will he die?
Giver of eternal life his life now is in your hands

Wounded, bleeding, fading to the kingdom of the dead
Stillness, Numbness, his eyes roll to the back of his head
Slipping, drowning, falling into eternal sleep
Retreating, weeping, could this be really the end?

Restless, endless, the battleground in disarray
Soldiers, witness warrior in black injuring our king
Wondering, in disbelief what was witness on this day
Successful, triumphant, Ome Acatl you have taken the battle today

Who would try to destroy our land, to conquer heaven here on earth?
