Belly

Belly was an alternative rock band formed in 1991 by former Throwing Muses members Tanya Donelly (who was also in The Breeders) and Fred Abong. The band was based in Boston, Massachusetts, though all of the original members grew up in Newport, Rhode Island. The band consisted of Donelly on lead vocals and guitar, Abong on bass, Tom Gorman on guitar, and Chris Gorman on drums. I'm relapsing
Feel like the world is passing me
Lately, I'm too passionate
Hash the blunt and crashed the Mercedes but y'all don't know the half of it
You know what's actually crazy?
They banned abortion 'cause they trafficking babies
Seeing my people get massacred
F*ck being a pacifist
Maybe the pain, paid me so much I'm such a masochist
Lately, I ain't an activist
I was high on Actavis, baby, but I'm so accurate
I know why they actually hate me
I reimagine the scriptures that all my ancestors gave me
I painted pictures, they should've left me back in the 80s
I'm so different, they ended up ashy and shady
I keep it classy but it's sad to say how happy it made me (crazy)

False heroes need villains
Shallow hurt bitches keep speaking 'bout deep healing
Way too expensive to pay attention to cheap women (right)
And pride is a weak feeling

I ain't doing no features, sucker free
No leeches, each's own
I was born congregation, no preachers
Middle-Eastern, bow features
Screens never showed us our own teachers
And they got the nerve to wonder why they don't reach us
I got my own reasons, fighting with my own demons
Sat down and wrote this in hell, just so it's cohesive
My big homie caught a case at the Four Seasons
I paid the lawyer, even though I know he won't beat it
Bitch, I be walking on water like I know Jesus
And I'm a giant in this whole region
I'm counting money with my stray hand
You know the procedure
You without Belly, like Kelly with no Regis

False heroes need villains
Shallow hurt bitches keep speaking 'bout deep healing
Way too expensive to pay attention to cheap women (right)
And pride is a weak feeling

And pride is a weak feeling
And pride is a weak feeling
