Time moves through us, silent in observation
No bias to us, construct of imagination
Reside and then abide to it's rules
Helpless against the track when it moves
Begging for a junction to choose
To change the track to better our dues
But the Metro doesn't wait
Doesn't care if black, brown, for fair-haired
It's only blind to your fate
Takes you on a trip to consume
You, from a different point of view
Through the glass port you can choose
Either look away or amuse
Took a while, but I found a ticket
Thinkin' now, this is the beginning
On the metal, line meddling my time
Working to a life worth livin'
Boarded for a chance to reform
Thought back to the past to explore
Got retorts for myself evermore
Even if unsure
Gliding down on the track here and now
Looking back through the glass feeling proud
See the little dashin' around
With a couple scrapes from the ground
And we got the same face
His is filled with anger
And we got the same fate
Shared within an anchor
Using what I know in present
I put my hand to the glass to press it
In the hope that the little dope kid sees
And he don't get depressed
In the thought of another life livin'
Wishing I could shout tell him not to give in
Let him know that he ain't alone
Even though no one sees where he's headed
And now the glass goes black
Little me's gone in a flash
With the present daunting at last
In the middle of this tunnel
As a kinder I rebuttal to go back
But the car keeps it moving
I see icy views far away
To remove from my past
Now with an ice-framed window
I sit alone in the train car
With only sound acting in tip-toe
I look out to my right now
And I see someone within the cold
Clutching tight to a red book
That's been filled with un-written goals
Their face
Covered in a shadow, just can't make it out
But no mistake
Not living within me, a single shred of a doubt
I push my hand through the glass to break it
And reach into the shroud
But they disappear and my fingers slip
And now I hear the sound of a crowd
Pulled back into Metro now
Train car's Deaftones loud
Filled with people gathering around
Faded light through the glass port
Captures my gaze, shortsighted I'm unfazed
Day and night would react to each other
Now in a blend, a fountain of grey
As we move from the now into soon
I think I found why I crafted this tune
To be imbued by a passionate few
While riding on this track, passing 'em through
Faded lights now brighter in view
My future self coming into the room
Extended hand and he's got a new suit
Begging for me to pay my dues
Echos from the past, let it be known
The thoughts of my present, they have been shown
The dreams to come at last, raring to go
I have learned my lesson, time to grow
Past may be Set in Stone
And today we may be on Death Row
The time ahead has Something to Behold
Purpose that I got upon the Metro
