When Coby was three years old
He told me this story about
He was having a dream
And he saw a vision
And in that vision
He went to this house and he said
Mommy I went to the first house
And at that house there was a whole lot of shiny stuff on it
And
When I opened up the door
I saw the devil
And he said mommy I started crying
And I ran ran ran ran ran
And then he said
I ran out a little further
And then I saw another house
And this house
It was bigger mommy
And he said it had a
Whole lot more shiny stuff on it
And he said when he opened up
The door he saw Jesus
And so I just watched him
He would go to church with me
And he could come home
And starting at the age of two
He can emulate my brother in law Which was a minister
And he can recite
What he said in his sermon
And do his reenactments
Of his gestures
And so I told my mom
And my grandmother
They said just ugh don't say nothing
And so when he turned three
He kept wanting to be baptized
And my grandmother would see him Wanting to get up
To go take the chair
And I would always catch him
In the collar of his neck
And pull him back by his shirt
But by the time he turned five
I pulled him back
And God's grip was greater
Than my grip
And my grandmother kept telling me
Suffer not my little children
To come unto to me
She said leave him alone
I said but he's so young
He don't understand what's going on
And I just wanted to make sure
He could understand
What he was really doing
So Coby wind up being
My youngest child to be baptized
Because he was baptized
At five years old
And he understood totally
What it was all about
And I can remember
My grip in my son's shirt
And he did this
From the age of three to five
And every time he felt like
He wanted to go take the chair
I would just grab him in his collar And pull him back down to the pew
But when he turned five
As I stated I did the same thing
I normally do
But I could just see my fingers Releasing
God's grip was greater than mine
