You know the blues is my kind of music
I want to spread it all around

That's when they look at you and frown
They say "the blues doesn't work here" - in their rock-n-roll town

	Muddy Waters and Albert King
	While they think that newer, rocked-out covers
	Are somehow the same thing!

Maybe it's true that I'm a cynic
But it's because I've been around
It's hard to be a bluesman in a rock-n-roll town!
