A warrior's tears
In a world dry like a desert, my people struggled to develop
After being held back in the press for years, I expressed my frustration through poetry
In these warrior tears

I've embraced my fears
Been a victim of racism and my own ignorance, and now it's clear
We take two steps back when unity seems so near
Since the sale of the first slaves, set sail across the cold blue waves, to sell and be

E.T. in our culture, we lost our warrior ways
In a shallow race to get paid, get out the hood to a nice house in the shade, two model
Chicks in an Escalade, as our heritage begins to fade
Sometimes I think Booker T was right

We was better off with segregation, separate from them whites, they lies and degradation
We had to fight for civil rights
Then they supplied us with the means to destroy each other
And in return, we supplied them with the money, labor, and time to once again enslave a brother

The answer's simple
We must gain a positive identity, self-esteem, and unity
We built their economy, it's time we build ours, and the rest idle thoughts for truancy
A baby elephant is bound by a string

He tries his hardest but can't break free
And once he grows large, his spirit is broke
He doesn't even attempt to escape the clowns in charge
Blame is just an excuse to become complacent

They can't stop us now
Power to the people was the statement
And throughout many movements, we've gained little ground
Their trick has always been division

Not one, but a hundred thousand leaders are what we're missing
And we're not four fathers
There were four whips and four million chain collars
Four masters and four pimps

Four divided by two is too much blood that drips from America's history
Listen to me
We have the potential to own it all, but the hood, Wall Street, Hollywood, and society
Teaches us to fall

Stack your loot and then sell out before you fall
Verbs
As a result, facts fuel my words
This is a call to us all, like Marcus Garvey, stand tall
Picture the warrior and feel my tears
For us to become independent is they biggest fears
