There was a suicide in Prescott today
Bob kissed his wife and went on his way
To breakfast with friends like he always did
They ate and chatted and shot the shit

He said he wanted to walk to the house
I'll go through the woods as quiet as a mouse
Tell Charlotte that I'll be there very soon
I'm not going far I'll be home by noon

Dave was a very good friend of Bob's
He took Bob's car and would speak to Charlotte
Dave nor Charlotte nor anyone else
Could feel Bob's pain or his need to get out

Don't ask me why or if he was sick
Don't tell it's wrong or drag Jesus into this
Your life is yours to live as you will
You can use a gun or just take a pill

Bob walked out into the parking lot
He slid his hand into his jacket pocket
And rested his fingers on the cold black Glock
Was he mad or crazy or just out of luck

The metal was cold, but the sun shone warm
He squinted his eyes and felt the storm
Inside his heart and inside his brain
We are witnesses to the death of Bob's pain

He pulled the gun and put it under his chin
A lady screamed in a car next to him
He looked straight up and said goodbye
He pulled the trigger and floated into the sky!
