I turn around and catch a glimpse of the last sunset of summer
A deep sigh betrays my attitude, this experience was a bummer
The moisture in my eyes blurs the sky into a dazzling display
But the noisy airplane engines leave my mind in disarray
I wish I could start over
Wish this wasn't the end
Twelve weeks in the city, but hardly made a friend
A million things I didn't do
I just didn't have the time
So all that I have left is hills I did not climb
But there's beauty in the sunset
So I'll embrace my limitations

A thousand thoughts all simmering on the backburner of my mind
A clumped-up knot of loose ends instead of golden rays of light
So much tension unresolved, is it integrity or suppression
The answer slips behind a smokescreen fueled by burning questions
Of where to work and where to live
When to keep and when to give
Who I should distrust and who I must forgive
I don't want to say goodbye
But I have to wonder why
The prettiest horizons are the ones with clouds in the sky
Cuz there's beauty in the sunset
So I'll embrace my limitations
