I've slept in the same bed since I was three years old
A white frame, canopy, and a butterfly that's lilac and gold
So many things have changed throughout my room, but that one thing's stayed the same
Now I may never sleep in the same bed again
The playset in my backyard was my home for imagination
A pirate ship or palace
Whatever the sun rays of that day said to me
As I sat up high I dreamt of a life far from my backyard
But a city replaced the playground while my fantasy was barred

The sweet, cozy, red brick house is all I've really known
It heard the bickering of family's presence
And quiet hums when I was home alone
Though the walls are painted over deep inside it hasn't changed
But with one less person under its roof will its undertone feel strange
