I sit outside and marvel at creation[01:01.70]And our wild and wondrous neighbors, big and small[01:07.57]How they compete and connive[01:11.05]Every day to survive[01:13.86]Here in this world[01:16.13]Where the raging waters rush and the cold wind blows[01:20.73]And though I've gained a new respect for all the creatures that surround us[01:26.90]It seems to me that lots of folks[01:30.14]Don't care too much for crows[01:36.79]First of all their plumage[01:39.02]Is just as fancy as a goldfinch[01:42.44]They are majestic as an eagle or a hawk[01:48.82]But they don't sound like sparrows[01:51.78]We always wish they'd stop their cawing[01:54.96]Until we learn that they communicate[01:58.34]And that's the way they talk[02:00.85]And since they don't sing sweet like other birds[02:04.24]You might assume that they are dumb[02:07.51]But I've learned that when we're singing[02:10.69]They'll sit up in the trees and drum[02:20.48]You may not know that they're intelligent[02:24.43]They're dedicated, loyal[02:26.63]Generous it's true[02:28.91]I guess that you could say[02:30.27]That they're an awful lot like me and you[02:33.94]And they look out for each other[02:36.80]When one dies[02:38.56]I've heard their brothers cry[02:43.36]But lots of people really don't like crows and I wonder why[02:54.81]I really think they are a victim of a cruel dichotomy[03:02.02]And learning about them has helped me learn a lot about you and me[03:08.31]And here in my small town it really breaks my heart to find[03:14.22]People who are keen to bring back rules and attitudes[03:18.49]We thought we'd left behind[03:45.37]Oh they really are intelligent[03:48.71]They're dedicated, loyal[03:50.75]Generous It's true[03:53.05]In all the ways that count[03:54.38]Well they are just the same as me and you[03:58.16]And they look out for one another[04:00.94]That's a trait that lots of birds and people lack[04:07.00]You know, crows are really quite amazing creatures[04:12.70]That is just a fact[04:20.05]When you take some time to know them[04:22.75]You might change your mind, it's true[04:25.95]Because crows are really great[04:31.36]Just like me and you
